The PharmTech Mobility Project officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting hosted at TU Dublin’s vibrant Grangegorman Campus. This marked a key milestone in our collaborative Erasmus+ initiative, aimed at enhancing pharmacy technician education and mobility across Europe.

Together, the consortium is working to harmonise pharmacy technician education, support cross-border mobility, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
Day 1 Highlights – 21 November 2024
The kick-off meeting began with a welcome and introductions from all partners. Discussions focused on:
Developing a shared educational framework for pharmacy technicians
Supporting student and professional mobility across Europe
Strategising stakeholder involvement for long-term impact
This first day laid the foundation for collaboration and a unified vision for the future of pharmacy technician training.
Day 2 Highlights – 22 November 2024
On the second day, partners explored and compared the current pharmacy technician education curricula across Ireland, Belgium, Spain and Portugal. This session highlighted both the richness and diversity of existing systems, while also identifying opportunities for alignment.
The collective energy, commitment, and shared expertise were evident throughout. The meeting concluded with a strong sense of momentum and purpose as we move forward in this important project.
Special thanks to both internal and external stakeholders who attended and actively contributed to the discussions: Dr Catriona Bradley, Director of the Irish Institute of Pharmacy; Nicole O’Neill, Education Innovation Manager at TU Dublin; and TU Dublin colleagues from the School of Food Science and Environmental Health: Dr Julie Dunne, Mary-Therese McGrath, and Dr Furong Tian. Their insights and expertise enriched the dialogue and were instrumental in shaping the project's direction.
